He Is Worthy! Don't Be Misled!

I came home from my immuno-therapy treatment the other day thanking God it went well. The doctor was pleased with my body's response to the treatment. I watched as the people began coming into the treatment room. There were youngsters in their twenties, middle-aged like me (lol), and then quite a few older patients. I noticed most of the patients were pleasant, friendly, and appreciative for the care being provided by the nurses. It made me appreciative as well.

Some were more reserved possibly because of their situation. The conversations varied. Some were fine to just sit in the chair while receiving their infusion. Others, of which I have one person in mind, could not stop talking. At the risk of coming off like an eavesdropper, I couldn't help but overhear his conversation with another patient. It was all about him, his family, his desire to get married again, his daughter having money, etc., etc., etc. He talked about everything. It seemed like a spewing volcano of information. I don't think it was nervous chatter. I think it is just the way he is wired.

Personally, I like to read. I take my copy of the Word along with other books that encourage me spiritually. I keep waiting on an opportunity to witness to someone, but the chair arrangement in the room makes it difficult. So, I sit, read, and sometimes offer prayers for those around me. I have to tell you, there are some mighty sick people out there in the world. I don't know if anyone of those being treated alongside me know anything about Jesus, but I keep asking the Lord to let people see Jesus in me. I don't think this to be a selfish desire to be noticed. It's my hearts' desire to have people discern in me a soft, sincere, and righteous presence. Sometimes it happens, but there are days when it isn't very noticeable in me.

Enough of that. When I got home, I turned on YouTube for a little while. I surf between beekeeping, false teachers, and hymns being played by guitar in the background. While jumping from site to site, I came across a video of America's Got Talent. There was a young man standing on the stage, in front of four judges who are more than likely worldly. They were backed and flanked by a huge audience. What caught my attention was the caption of the video: "Holy Spirit Came Down in AGT!! Simon in tears!" Search it out; it is worth watching. I mean, who doesn't want to see Simon in tears, lol?

When I queued up the video, the young man was singing "worthy is Your name, Jesus!" It was repeated several times with a pure voice and an obviously sincere heart. It took my breath away and my eyes moistened. I could only sit, raise my hands, and close my eyes. I bowed my head as this young man continued proclaiming the worthiness of Jesus. Man! What he was singing was biblically correct and on top of that it was spiritually moving; compelling me to worship along with him. Christians won't deny the worthiness of Jesus and the world won't accept it.

Now, here is a question: 'What is Jesus worthy of?" The Bible tells us of Jesus' worthiness in many places.

Revelation 4:9-11 "They cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created."

He is worthy of glory, honor, and power for one because He is The Creator!

Revelation 5:12-14"Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!" The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped."

Jesus is worthy not only because He is the Creator, but also because He was slain, that is; He was slaughtered on the cross for the sin of the world. Now remember, a person has to repent and believe this in order for it to be efficacious!

John 1:29, "The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

John the Baptist said Jesus is worthy because He is the Lamb of God and takes away the sin of the world.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10, "But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

The Apostle Paul acknowledged the worthiness of Christ in that He is All-powerful and gives power to overcome the world to His followers.

I'll give you just a few more reasons for us to declare the worthiness of Jesus Christ: He is faithful, kind, courageous, humble, generous, loving, compassionate, forgiving, just, patient, and honest; just to list a few. Each of these are found to be complete in Jesus; complete in Him alone!

Does this apply to your life? Does the reality of the worthiness of Jesus seem like an enormous sea of unlimited grandness? Do you have the urge to cry out softly that Jesus is worthy? Or are there times when you want to climb to a place where you can raise your hands and shout, "Jesus, You are Worthy? I am so thankful I have times like these in my life! He has exercised His virtues to me continuously in my life and I'm sure if you search yourself, He has done the same in yours.

This is why I don't consider it inappropriate or irreverent for me to desire each of these to be seen in my life. I want people to see Jesus in ME! I want people to see Jesus in YOU just as they saw Jesus in that singer on the stage of AGT. The audience was mixed in their response. There were certainly those who sat and listened to this young man with a "hard-hearted" attitude. They grinned and glanced side-eyed toward each other almost as if they were embarrassed. It was an obvious rejection of the worship, the message, and the messenger. More importantly, it was a rejection of Jesus.

But oh, the difference in the audience, for there were tears streaming down the faces of many. There were heads leaned forward as if in a bowing gesture. There were hands clasped to chests. There was a definite receptive attitude of many as the young man effortlessly and reverently lifted his voice so tenderly to Jesus. Oh, I want people to hear us. You know; me, you - US; the ones who call God "Abba" and Jesus "Savior", with the Holy Spirit's leading. I want people to have tears rolling down their faces as they sense the need to call on a Savior for themselves.

I am so brokenhearted by the world's rejection of Jesus. The evil in today's time, at least in my lifetime, has never been so blatant. If it were not for the lost in this world, even in my family, I would pray for Jesus to come now. The letter of Hebrews addresses the slippery slope on which non-believers find themselves. It quotes God addressing the non-believers position now and in the future:

Psalm 95:8-11

"Today, if you hear His voice: Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah, as on that day at Massah in the wilderness where your fathers tested Me; they tried Me, though they had seen what I did. For 40 years I was disgusted with that generation; I said, 'They are a people whose heart go astray; they do not know My ways. So, I swore in My anger, 'They will not enter my rest."

Jesus could not have said it more plainly than His words in the New Testament:

John 14:6

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

How do you feel about the worthiness of Jesus? Is it not overwhelming to think of who He is and what He has done for you? It causes me to tremble.

I can only say, "Yes! Jesus, You ARE Worthy!" Don't be misled by the today's culture. Don't let the fear of being laughed at or mocked take away your outward dis[play of being a child of God. Jesus was pretty clear, no He was absolutely clear when He said:

Mark 8:38:

For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels."

Wear Jesus Well,

Blessings,

Steve

PS: I know the majority of the readers for my post are Christians. I would ask you to pray for those outside of the Christian realm who need to see Jesus. Send it to someone while backing it up with your prayers for that lost one to be reached.
